I now enjoy weight training without suffering from the characteristic aches and pains often associated with strength training. I now look and feel the way I always wanted and I keep improving everyday. The emotional and psychological benefits from Resistance Stretching are the parts missing from most physical training. My life is now moving in the directions that I have always wanted."

Calvin C Hicks Level I (575) 302-3722 www.innovativebodysolutions.com
|
Level 4 trainer
First Aid/CPR/Lifeguard/Water Safety INSTRUCTOR Swim Coach Coral Springs Swim Club Senior 1 Performance Training Partner Behavior Mgt. Spl.
Calvin was introduced to "Resistance/Rotational Stretching" during spring-training as a (Soph.) competing in football/track at Eastern NM University. The results were immediate and enduring as the Coach, Mike Lucas, stated they would be; 'everyone will be faster, stronger, quicker, more flexible, and we will have less injuries.' This came after a Coach had stated months prior that; ' Calvin... you are fast, but would be so much "faster if you would relax". The word "relax" should have been replaced with "Resistance Stretch", Because "Resistance Stretching," is what produced the 'relaxation, lengthening, strengthening, purging of lactic acid, and flexibility, that was lacking, to help Calvin and his team-mates attain to a higher level of skill, and to further their climb toward peak physical conditioning/ potential, with a lowered risk of injury. After completion of his competitive years at university; Calvin used the experience he had gained from incorporating what was then a some what 'Static/Growing' "Resistance Stretching" modality, to stretch and train the athletes he coached in Track/Field, Swimming, and Performance training, to enhance/reach their performance potential for the next 20 years. Upon arriving at the Coral Springs Aquatics Complex and interning with the Coral Springs Swim Club, Calvin was incidentally introduced to the highly refined "Ki-Hara" method of "Resistance / Rotational Stretching, Strengthening, and Mashing." Then formally introduced to it by (Miss) ANNE TIERNEY, and (Doc.) STEVE SIERRA. He has used this method solo, and in tandem with (LISA CALLAHAN / SETH HORNADAY / HEATHER BRYANT ) on Elite Athletes: - (9) Olympic / (2) Pan Am swimmers, (2) US Olympic Trials (swim) qualifiers, (3) Ironman Tri-Athletes, Bodybuilders, Elite Personal Trainers, Pro Tennis players, Marathoners, Pro Golfers, and Senior/Junior Nat'l (Individual Record Holder '09) Swimmers. Included in the array of athletes would be a U19 Nat'l Soccer team participant, (2) Masters Swimming Nat'l Qualifiers (Relay World Record '09)('10), Regional Tri participants, (3) Nat'l (top ten) Synchronized Swimmers, PRINCETON Swim/Dive team, AUSTRIAN Nat'l Tri team, GERMAN-VFLGLADBECK Swim team, Water Polo players, Executives, a Physician, as well as: - Moms, Dads, Sons, Daughters, and Grandparents. Some of whom were not actively competing, but had fitness goals or chronic pain/injuries, of which "Resistance Stretching/Training and Mashing" was used to help them achieve very positive results. Some of whom you will see listed, or in photos on this website. |

Terrance Murphy has been involved in the fitness industry for over 15 years as an AFTA/NASM Certified Personal Trainer, WTF/USTU Certified Black Belt Instructor, TRX suspension certified trainer, AFTA & USTU Certified Kickboxing Instructor, Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner, and a Level II Ki-Hara Resistance Stretching Trainer. He is an extremely popular trainer who is passionate in helping people in setting their fitness goals, and committed to working with his clients to help them reach them. He loves to motivate his clients to be the best they can be, whatever it is they are doing. Terrance’s training philosophy has always emphasized practicality and movement, with optimal functionality as a prime goal. Since being introduced to Ki-Hara stretching and studying under the tutelage of Steve Sierra and Anne Tierney, Terrance went to work immediately, stretching his existing clients the very next day, and the results were nothing short of amazing! From weekend warriors, soccer moms, yoga practitioners, and highly trained athletes, all have seen immediate improvements in their strength, flexibility, and in their ability to perform at their best. Others recovered quickly from nagging injuries that had hampered their progress, including some senior athletes who, for the first time in years, were able to compete again, due to the strengthening, stretching, and mashing of Ki-Hara. As a martial artist and avid beach volleyball player, Terrance has also seen great improvement in his own ability to have strong flexibility and practical, functional movement. "Using the centuries old techniques of passive stretching taught by Korean masters, my flexibility definitely increased over a 5 year period. By using the Ki-Hara method, I witnessed at least a 3 times greater range in about a tenth of the time, and my muscles are much stronger throughout the whole range of motion!"
Terrance has always been an active athlete, and is also a winner of numerous martial arts tournaments, including the prestigious International Black Belt USA (1st Place-Forms, 1st Place-Weapons, 1st Place Sparring- Black Belt Division); he was also named the 1998 ETF National Competitor of The Year. Terrance studied martial arts under Master Sang Ho Lee (Seoul, South Korea/Burlington NC), one of six brothers who are either Masters or Grandmasters, the only family in the world to hold that distinction.
Terrance has also done numerous commercials, print ads, and movies in his other career as a model, actor, and stuntman, shooting and performing with numerous people, including Marisa Miller, Christie Brinkley, Chuck Norris, Rusty Wallace, Junior Johnson, and Jason Statham.
Previously, Terrance was a NC Licensed Residential Contractor, NC Licensed Home Inspector, and NC Licensed Real Estate Broker, specializing in custom built housing, speculative housing, and historic remodeling in Elon College, NC. |
