Online Flexibility Training

During an online private session we would assess you as best as possible by talking to you and asking you questions as well as watching your range of motion, posture, and movements over the camera.

An online private session costs $100 for an hour and $125 for 1.5 hours. In it we would assess you as best as possible by talking to you and asking you questions as well as watching your range of motion, posture, and movements over the camera. Since we cannot touch you, we will have to rely solely on your descriptions of your body's strengths and weaknesses. We will be able to see you, however, so we will be able to analyze your body visually to some extent. After doing this, we will prescribe and teach you specific forms of stretches for your specific needs and current abilities.

The first thing we do in an initial session is analyze you and your body by talking to you as well as watching you over the camera in various positions. With this information we will then create a specific stretch program for you. From our observations of your body as well as the specific things you tell us about your goals, desires and personal lifestyle, we will custom tailor the stretch program.

The goal of the session is to teach you specific stretches that you can perform regularly on your own. To do this most effectively, you must have a copy of Bob Cooley's book The Genius of Flexibility. Please have the book with you when we are working together, since we will refer to it and have you take notes in it as we are teaching you. Pen and paper would also be beneficial as we want you to have reliable notes of what we teach you so that you can successfully repeat them alone at home.

Since we have limited ability to see each other, we recommend you set up your camera in a place with excellent lighting from behind the camera, so you are lit up from in front of you, not behind you. And also set up the camera so that we can see your entire body when you are lying on the floor performing a stretch. We need to watch you stretch in order to best teach you. And wear clothing that allows us to see as much of your body as is comfortable for you. We need to analyze your body, not your outfit.

To perform a useful on-line session via computer, we must both be able to see, hear and talk to each other. To accomplish this, you need (you or a technical aid must set these up on your computer):

  1. A high-speed internet connection.
  2. Either a .Mac account (i-sight), AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) account, or MSN (MSN messenger; can open one with a gmail account) account.
  3. To send us your account name so that we can then contact you from our computer.
  4. A web camera connected to your computer.
  5. A good microphone and speakers connected to your computer (or a headset that you can wear while lying on the floor stretching).
  6. Knowledge of how to start and conduct an audio/visual chat session over the internet.

We know this is a lot of information. We want to make your session as simple and productive as possible. So if you prepare in advance, you will get the most out of your time with us.

Before we can conduct your on-line session, you must fill out a liability waiver that will be sent to you from your online trainer and mail it to them along with a check for your session made out to your online trainer. The address will be on the liability waiver.
