The Second Comeback of Dara Torres

The quest to become the oldest with the mostest!
  • Oldest female Olympic swimmer
  • Most number of Olympic Games of an American swimmer
  • Add to her "2nd most medals of any American woman"

The comeback began innocently (and unknowingly enough) with her pregnancy – she swam to stay in shape. Even swimming on the day that she went into labor.

Three months later, she was competing in a masters meet (with newborn daughter, Tessa, in tow).

After swimming well at the meet (breaking a masters record for her age group during her split in the relay), people started to ask if she would ‘go for it again.’

The seed was planted…
