Core Training

The core is vital to stability, balance, strength, and flexibility.

CORE: Hip flexor, rectus and transverse abdominals, and obliques

Possibly the hardest body ‘part’ to train on both men and women, but unmistakably:

  • the most important - both aesthetically and physically
  • the most revered and ogled
  • the link between the upper and lower body.

The core is vital to stability, balance, strength, and flexibility. There are hundreds if not thousands of books, classes, and videos all dedicated to the abdominal area - some promising results in under 10 minutes while others as long as an hour.

However, just like with the principle of flexibility in Resistance Flexibility and Strength Training ®, one of the reasons why people aren´t seeing the results that they ‘long’ for is because the abdominal muscles are not getting properly lengthened to their true potential during crunches, sit-ups, and other forms of abdominal exercises.

During Resistance Stretching ® exercises (both self and assisted stretches) people are naturally stabilizing and firming up their core. By adding backbends on the Gaiam Yoga Lift ® people are able to lengthen and strengthen the abdominal muscles even more - totally re-shaping and defining the mid-section.
